Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made clear that Moscow will support the beginning of the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations by putting Artsakh territories. This was in an interview with Trend. Armenian News-NEWS.am said the former NKR Foreign Minister Arman Melikyan.
According to him, Lavrov understands what is at stake. "Most recently, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the delivery of the so-called 5 former" Azerbaijan "by the NKR regions can stimulate the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations. Alternative delivery terroritory regarded as the Kremlin as supposedly the most realistic variant of the conflict settlement. In fact, Lavrov hinted that Moscow will support the beginning of a process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations by putting Artsakh territories ", - said Melikyan.
In his view it is obvious that as long as the Armenian-Turkish border, Russian border guards control the degree of normalization of the relations of Yerevan and Ankara will be determined in Moscow. "That is, in case of this scenario, we need to pass the territory of Azerbaijan, because that Russia once again at the expense of our interests to settle its relations with Baku and Ankara," - said Melikyan. According to him, there is only one option to ensure that their interests and the preservation of Russia's positions in the South Caucasus, which does not imply surrender of territories of Artsakh. "But it will require from our Russian partners of political foresight and a certain boldness. Time will tell how much they are able to do so. "
